Real Wedding — Vicki & Mike (A Peacock-Themed Wedding)

Last Sunday, I had the opportunity to observe and assist Ashley Beard of Windows Catering.  As I walked into the Carnegie Institution in Washington, DC, I was immediately in awe at how beautiful of a venue this was.  Vicki & Mike’s wedding was a peacock-themed wedding.  Every detail was so classy and perfect and nothing was too over-the-top.  This is a hard feat at a themed wedding!  Guests entered the Jewish ceremony through the beautiful double-doors that opened to reveal a simple chuppah with candles inside the foyer of the Carnegie Institution.  The chuppah stood in the center of the foyer and chairs circled around it.  The reception was held in the ballroom area opening up to the foyer where dancing would later take place.  The entire event was traditional and beautiful!  Take a look at the photos I managed to snap while I was there.  This wedding totally speaks for itself!

The bride & groom were engaged at the zoo in the snow...hence the animal theme!

Cute! There is a lot of really great inspiration here. I love how the ceremony is set up!

    • Clare — I agree! With this particular wedding, we had to arrange the seats so that nobody’s view was blocked by the chuppah but with a non-Jewish ceremony, that wouldn’t be as much of a concern. I think if someone has a venue that allows for this type of a seating, it is super cute and unique!
